123 Floor & Home started out as a flooring company in 2004 at the direction of Dave Naylor, the rock of the company. Dave started in the flooring industry in New York at the ripe age of 16 working in urban areas with older homes which presented unique challenges and learning opportunities. Those skills he learned in the Big Apple proved invaluable over the years to come. After moving to North Carolina in 2002 and marrying his southern bell, he opened his own flooring company.
In 2009, Dave realized the need for an honest and trustworthy company to help people who had suffered a loss to their home due to an unforeseen situation or accident. Countless times, he had been called to homes with water damage with frustrated and overwhelmed homeowners who did not know what to do. That’s when Dave became certified to do fire, water, mold, and smoke restoration. Since the majority of these disasters involved repairs to flooring, it was the perfect opportunity to put Dave’s skills at work while also being a blessing to others in a stressful time of their life.
Dave’s sidekick, Teresa, started out her career as a teacher and was called to be a victim advocate for abused children. After years of serving in that field, the weight of those stories and situations became too heavy to carry so she joined Dave full time in their company business. As a licensed general contractor and a certified water remediation technician, Teresa works directly with homeowners as they navigate the complexities of their insurance claim and assists them every step of the way as their home is restored.
